FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How Much Does Humane Bee Removal Cost?
As an artisanal apiary, our real payment is the honey and honeycomb from rescued bees. But we also accept donations based on the difficulty of the removal. We accept donations in the form of cash, check, or just visit the Flint River Bees donation site.
All donations are greatly appreciated.
What Types of Methods Do You Use?
Our methods are chemical-free and pose a minimal risk of damage to your property. We use two types of methods:
Trap Outs
We use a method that involves luring the bees into a hive box baited with honey and bee pheromone while restricting their access to the original hive.
Direct Removal
We access the high directly by removing a section of the wall or the structure behind the hive. Then we gently transfer the comb and the bees into a hive box.
What Should I Do if I Find a Beehive?
If you encounter a beehive on your property, do not spray them with water or do anything that may disturb them. Call a team of bee control experts that specialize in honey bee hive removal, or if necessary contact the authorities if they pose an immediate threat. It is recommended to not disturb the hive in any way and to keep people and pets away from the hive.
